Hire of Club lounge.
Thank you for your inquiry to hire our club
lounge. The lounge has a medium sized dance
floor, can accommodate 150 people seated
when the dance floor is in use and up to
170 people if dance floor is not used. There
is a good sized kitchen with all facilities,
cutlery, crockery etc.
You may decorate the Lounge if you wish but
please no cellotape or blue tack to be used
on the wall paper. Pins are ok. Providing
the lounge is not booked access can be made
available from 1pm the day before for setting
up at an additional cost of $30. Our web
site www.howickbowls.co.nz has a few photos of table decorations.
Bond
A bond of $150 is payable at the time of
booking. This is held in trust and will be
refunded if the premises are left clean &
tidy and there is no damage to the building,
fixtures & Fittings and the Bowling greens.
A cancellation fee is payable and will be
deducted from the bond refund.
Bar
The Club has a club bar licence only and
operates till 11.30pm. A special license
is required for non club (private) functions
which we obtain at our cost. BYO is not permitted.
Bar expenses commence 30mins before the function
starts and conclude when the building is
locked up. The Bar staff on duty are also
responsible for Club security, attending
to any emergencies, Fire Wardens, assisting
with cleaning up the premises, clearing tables,
washing glasses etc.
We have a range of draught beers, bottled
beer, wines by the carafe or bottle and spirits,
also a full range of soft drinks, orange
juice, ginger beer etc. We don’t stock sparkling
wines but will buy in for you. Corkage is
charged at $5 per bottle.
Bar tab
If you wish to provide drinks for your guests
a "tab" can be arranged for any
amount & with any restriction you wish.
(eg.) limited to beer, wine & soft drinks
only)
Cleaning up at end of function
If you require us to clean up at the end
of the night then this can be arranged and
at an additional cost.
Tea & Coffee.
Often provided by the caterers but we can
provide tea & coffee continuously during
the function (self Serve) at an additional
charge of $40.
Catering
You may engage any caterer of your choice,
or do it yourselves. Caterers who are familiar
with our premises are Gourmet Shuttle (ph
5308044) Spitroast Com and A1 caterers (Andrea
Smith PH 8466566). They all know our kitchen
facilities and are recommended. A1 caterers
are especially good for weddings and finger
foods.
Hire Costs.
The lounge hire costs vary according to your
needs/period of hire and are available upon
request. An additional charge of $30 per
half hr is charged after midnight. Other
costs referred to above are additional to
the lounge hire costs.
Entertainment.
Entertainment can be arranged. The John Lindsay
Duo will provide back ground music. The Cavaliers,
4 musicians providing modern country &
rock. Noel Binns 6 piece swing Band. The
Sunset Coast Big Band featuring 6 piece sax
section backed up by 4 trumpets.
